Valentine’s Day Made Easy & A Giveaway!

Valentine’s Day, especially for the kiddos, doesn’t need to be difficult or expensive. It can be as easy as the usual things with hearts involved. Pancakes, sandwiches, tortillas, cookies, all kinds of things can be cut into heart shapes to make them special.
For a simple Valentine’s breakfast, a heart shaped toad-in-the-hole is a great idea.

  1. Preheat a large skillet to a high heat.
  2. With a heart shaped cutter remove centers from bread. Butter slices on one side only.
  3. Grill bread until lightly toasted.
  4. Crack an egg into each bread hole (be careful not to break the yolk).
  5. Cook until eggs are cooked to your desired consistency.

Also, sugar cookies are very simple. You probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen for Lala’s Sugar Cookies. Just cut into heart, sprinkle a little red or pink sugar on, bake & enjoy!  You can even let the little ones help you for a homemade gift.

I’m trying to come up with some ideas myself. But with these heart cookie cutters, I could totally see us making some heart ornaments with homemade play dough. Or as a fun dessert idea, make brownies and cut the heart shapes and decorate.

Those cookie cutters would be awesome to trace on pretty paper and have the kids cut out to string together for a garland!! Thank you for the opportunity!

My simple way for an inexpensive Valentine’s Day is to make cards for each other. But, bake – I love to bake! I have plans to make Heart Shaped “Pink” Chocolate Chip cookies and I am hoping to make Cherry Cheesecake Bites! Yummy!

  4. Wendy says:

I love the heart that has the little swish on the tail! Maybe I need to make a mess in the kitchen making cookies with my 4 year old!

  5. Donna says:

Hey – those look really pretty! LOVE cut out FROSTED cookies!

  6. Love the cookies. I would use the cookie cutter and draw shape on colored paper and turn it into a gift voucher for someone you love. Instead of buying a gift give a voucher for one hours baby minding, or an I owe you a coffee, or take a long bath and I will mind the kids. Just let your imagination run wild with ideas that won’t cost you too much more than your love and time. I live too far away to be eligible for this contest, just wanted to give an idea.
